History
Cygnum was established in 1996 the company was set up originally as an associate of Palfab Ltd, one of Ireland’s leading processors and distributors of sawn softwoods since 1976. Since its inception therefore, Cygnum has had a solid reserve of timber experience and know-how to draw on.
In 2007 the growth of timber frame construction throughtout the UK presented Cygnum with an opportunity to deliver its expertise and experience to UK customers.
Today, Cygnum operates from an ultra modern, purpose-built factory. The company has completed thousands of projects, and as more and more developers embrace timber frame driven by initiatives such as the Code for Sustainable Homes as their principal construction method, Cygnum’s growth continues apace.
Track Record

Since its foundation Cygnum has established an impressive track record and earned a solid reputation as a supplier of quality timber system solutions. With thousands of completed projects including a wide range of building types and construction budgets, from unique one-off architect-designed homes to mutliple plot estate developments. Commercial projects such as leisure centres, nursing homes, schools, hotels, cinemas and offices are also prominent in the project portfolio.

- A complex scheme comprising 12 no Apartment Blocks in London (contract value 2.1m)
- A mixed site comprising townhouses & apartments in Southampton (contract value 1.1m)
- A complex building schools for the future project comprising part engineered I beam wall construction in London
- A substantial social housing scheme in Oxfordshire
- An engineered timber structure using glulam beam & post construction in Surrey
